What is your EQ?
Have you ever wondered why some people are more successful than others? Have you ever wondered why someone that you hired that had all the attributes for success, failed to do the job? Have you ever wondered why some people are not as smart as you but are more successful than you? Maybe EQ is the reason.
Emotional Intelligence is a better predictor of success than IQ. Only 20% of high IQ people outperform those of average IQ, whereas 70% of average IQ folks outperform those with high IQ’s. However, 90% of those with high a EQ are successful and only 10% are not successful. The good news, unlike IQ, is that EQ increases with age and can be learned.
Therefore, it is very important to know your EQ score and what you can do to improve it.
That is why I became a Certified Professional EQ Analyst, CPEQA, to go along with my CPBA (Certified Professional Behavior Analyst), and CPTA (Certified TriMetrix Analyst) designations.
In a later Ray’s Rule, I will elaborate on EQ.
“Many highly intelligent people are poor thinkers. Many people of average intelligence are skilled thinkers. The power of the car is separate from the
way the car is driven.” – Edward De Bono
